Deadline day
I don't think it's true that 'slow and steady wins the race'. The story of the hare and the tortoise is just something grown up tell slow kids so they feel better. Or fast kids so that they slow down.

I think it CAN be true, though not always. I can certainly understand how if it is taken literally one would be skeptical at best.
Run a 50 Yd Dash slow but steady and you will probably be considered real "slow" in more ways than one.
However, steady, consistent, plodding along when taking a test, running a marathon or counting sheep at night can net winning results.
It just all depends.
